Most of you know why I am in my glory during tax season--it is because I sincerely love my job. But another reason I enjoy it so much is seeing YOU. You are not just a client to me, but a familiar face. Some of you I only see once a year--when you come to see me to prepare your taxes. I look forward to seeing each of you and hearing about your children, that new job or house or whatever changes came your way or what is on the horizon in 2016.
I also cannot express how grateful I am for the plethora of new clients I have through referrals from you! What a wonderful compliment. And as a thank you, for each new referral that becomes a client, you will receive a gift card from me.

*Savings/Investment info: Interest/Dividends, Stock Sales, Net Proceeds from a Sale of a Home
*Education: Student Loan Interest, Tuition Statements- 1098 E and T
*Rental Information if you have a Rental Property
*Vehicle Info: Know the Year/Make of your Yehicle, Total Miles Driven and Total Business Miles Driven.
*IRA forms
*Deductions: 1098 Mortage Interest and Property Taxes, Non cash Charitable Donations, Cash Charitable Donations, HUD Statement if you closed on a Real Estate Property, Employment Related Expenses, Amounts paid for Healthcare and Medical Expenses including medical miles driven and all medical, Dental and Hospital

A new client came to me with what could have resulted in a major financial crisis. Here is her story:
"I have always prepared my taxes myself. This year I had a 2nd mortgage for $36,000.00 that resulted in a 1099. I figured I better get this one right. I went to Pat and our initial consultation resulted in me owing close to $10k to fed. and state. I left trying to figure out how I can come up with that kind of money. I never expected the phone call I just received from Pat at 9pm. Dedicated or what? Pat did research and found that I do not need to claim the $36k. Not only do I not need to pay, I am getting a refund of $1k. Yes, she brought me to tears! Thank you Pat! I will sleep well tonight!"

Isn't that number below a beautiful thing? 18 days until Tax Day! That's right, not 15, this year T Day is April 18th. So, of course, this begs the question: are your taxes done yet? Have I had the pleasure of seeing your smiling face in my office? Are you someone who mails me your taxes (if you are, I need them stat!)? If you have answered, "no", to the above, please get yourself in ASAP.
